C hris Girdner was born and raised in the quiet and wonderful town of Yreka and enjoyed a fun filled upbringing in his hometown. He graduated high school in 1984 and went off to college. After several years attending school, he decided to go to the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, like his grandfather and father before him. Chris graduated from there in 1990 and he and his wife Jackie moved back to make their home in Yreka. They have 2 children, one college aged and one high school aged.
Chris like his father and grandfather has been very involved in the community. He volunteers at church, in the community and has served on several boards. He is also devoted to family, friends and fishing and the outdoors. Following Dan Jr.’s retirement in 2003, Chris continues to manage the family business, assuring families are treated with dignity and respect. While technology has changed the way that business is done to some extent, the same quality of care that his grandfather insisted on is still present today.
