George Alan Brockelman

George Alan Brockelman, born April 29th, 1929, passed away April 25th, 2012 surrounded by family and friends at his home in Yreka, California.

Born in Richmond California, to Earnest and Freda Brockelman, he was a Santa Rosa native most of his life. He went to Santa Rosa High School where he met his lovely wife, Gloria Elaine Hopkin of 62 years. Together they had two daughters, Karen and Ellen Brockelman .

George worked 42 years as a salesman for Sid Kurlander & Sons, distributing restauraunt supplies and commodities . His hobbies included guns, shooting, reloading his own ammunition and Country & Western music. At one point in his life he spent much of his time building and flying model airplanes with his best friend Don Corum. He was a life member of the NRA and a member of the Santa Rosa Moose Lodge for many years.

George is survived by his wife Gloria of Yreka, his daughter and son-in-law, Ellen & Michael Hennig of Grenada, his sister Freda Smith of Santa Rosa, Shelley Corum, his recent caregiver and friend for over thirty years, his six grand children, Bryan, Jennifer, Michael, Kristy, Rose, and Christine, his seven great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his daughter Karen Brockelman-Bauer by three years.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Madrone Hospice, 255 Collier Circle, Yreka, Ca. 96097
