Margaret Jeanne “Mickey” McCall quietly passed away from her family on the morning of May 28, 2012 after a battle with cancer.
Mickey was a strong, loving and funny woman who included in her count of kids hundreds of Big Springs children. She spent most of the last 20 years volunteering at Big Springs Elementary School and producing Christmas programs and graduations that will be remembered for a lifetime. To her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nephews and nieces she was a best friend, a confidante, a smile, and an uplifting spirit who brought much joy to their lives. She was the center of their worlds. Words can never paint the picture of the creativity and humor that she brought to others.
She is preceded in death by her sister Alice. Mourning her loss is her husband Mike McCall; her children Charnel and Stan James, Ty and Sarah McCall, Natalie and Rob Lowry, Sunny and David Harrison, and Aaron Gordon; her grandchildren who were the joy of her existence; her parents Bob and Peggy Smith; her brothers Pat and Denis Smith; many nephews and nieces; and all of the children of Big Springs who were touched by her love.
Friends and family will be celebrating her life at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Big Springs Community Church on Highway A-12, across from Big Springs Elementary School. All are welcome to come and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers or food, a donation for final expenses and medical bills would be greatly appreciated. A box will be available at the service.
