Kenneth Joseph Tell
(June 28, 1938 - March 30, 2012)
Kenneth Joseph Tell was born June 28th, 1938 in South San Francisco, California to George Tell, an Austrian immigrant and Maxine Stowell Tell of California. Ken, as he was known to family and friends grew up and went to school in the Bay Area in Burlingame, California. Ken pursued many different types of employment after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Urban Studies from San Jose State University. Ken worked in radio broadcast then went on to work for the City of Santa Cruz and Watsonville. Ken was also very much involved in his local communities through participation in the local water agencies and LAFCO. Ken very much enjoyed gardening and had a yearly vegetable garden. He was able to start his vegetables in a greenhouse in Hornbrook to take advantage of the short growing season. Ken was also very passionate about politics. Even in the last months of his life he was very much aware of the current political climate. CNN was on his television much of the time. Ken is survived by his wife Camille Tell, their children Nichole Single, Michael Tell, Brian Tell, Colin Tell and grandson Scott Tell. He is also survived by his sister Janice Tell Murphy, brother George Tell and nephews and nieces Anthony, Caroline, Jackie and Jillian. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Maxine Tell. Ken wished to be cremated and a private service is planned for some time in the early summer. The family would like to thank The Madrone Hospice of Yreka, California for their compassionate care in the last weeks of Ken's life.
