Christine Marie Moehring

Christine Marie Moehring Longtime Happy Camp resident, Christine Marie Moehring, passed away at her home on Jan. 12, 2014. She was 50 years old. She was born on May 6, 1963, in Medford, Ore., to Larry and Sharon Moehring. She attended both Happy Camp Elementary and Happy Camp High schools. She gave birth to Jimmy Moehring on March 24, 1980, and Crystal Jones (now Minium) on July 14, 1982. In May of 1990 she was tragically injured in an accident that left her paralyzed from the neck down; despite her injury she refused to let it slow her down. She loved the outdoors and watching her children grow. On Nov. 12, 2001, her daughter, Crystal, gave birth to Chris’s granddaughter, Megan Minium, who she ultimately adored. Megan has been the center of her life for the last 12 years. She loved to watch her play sports and cheerlead. Megan brought a bright light into her life. Chris loved to play Zoo World, which was her favorite game, and getting loved by her animals. Her favorite was a Saint Bernard, Sophie, that loved to climb in bed with her. Everyone in town knew that Chris’s door was always open – day or night – and she was never judgmental about anyone. She was always willing to listen to anyone and put you straight when needed. “Chris, you will be greatly loved and missed.” Chris is survived by her son, Jimmy Moehring; her daughter, Crystal Minium, and son-in-law, Bowdy Minium; her mother Sharon Moehring; her maternal granddaughter, Megan Minium; grandchildren, Tavin, Sam and Ivory (along with her unborn son) Minium; her grandmother, Lucile Walden; her sisters, Terri and Virginia Moehring and Michelle Cortes; her aunts and uncles: Katherine and Tom Hagelberg of Grants Pass, Ore., Cliff Beck of Medford, Ore., Danny and Mary Walden of Shady Cove, Ore., Jim and K.C. Walden of Iron Gate, Frank Moehring and daughter Tammy of Lodi, Calif., and Jake and Wilma Moehring of Happy Camp. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Sherri Spence; Amanda Burdett; Tamara and John Barnett; Daniel, Corey and Thomas Titus; John Lee; and Taylor, Aiden, Junior, Caleb and Lily Cortes. Also surviving her are great nieces and nephews: Ashley Spence and fiancé Michael Cook; Sabrina and Jack Spence; Corey, Brittany and Olivia Barnett; Alyssa Titus and son Karter; Brayden; Gene; Heather; Cody; Sharon; Larry; and Nancy. Many other family members including Billy Jones; Lavern, Brian and David Moehring; and many, many more. Chris is reuniting with her father, Larry Moehring; grandfather, Frank Walden; aunts and uncles: David, Verla, Holda and Brucie; and most of all her niece, Cassie Linn Spence, who is talking her ear off right about now. A special thanks to Brian Moehring, who was there on the day Chris passed and helped. A gathering and potluck to celebrate Chris’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2014, at the River Park in Happy Camp.
