Eleanor Elaine Iten

Eleanor E. King Iten of Fort Jones passed away on March 14, 2015, at Whitman Hospital in Colfax, WA., surrounded by her family. She was born June 11, 1922, in Fort Jones, CA to Orrin Eastlick and Dora Ramus Eastlick. Eleanor graduated from Weed High School at the age of 16 and attended Armstrong College in Oakland, CA. She married Albert King in November, 1944 in Fort Jones. Albert and Eleanor had 2 daughters. They lived on the King Ranch on West Moffett Creek Rd and later moved to town, where she worked for Siskiyou Telephone for several years. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Albert and Eleanor enjoyed traveling and, after retirement, spending their winters in Arizona and Palm Springs area. Albert passed away in 1990. Eleanor remained in Fort Jones. Later she married Carl Iten and moved to Grenada. Carl and Eleanor enjoyed several wonderful years together. They enjoyed traveling with their RV group and spending their winters in AZ. After Carl passed away, Eleanor spent her remaining years dividing her time between her 2 daughters. Eleanor is survived by her daughters Judy (Bill) Hammer of Fort Jones, Betty (Conly) Merritt of Hooper WA., stepdaughter Judy (Chuck) Bacchi of Lotus, CA., grandchildren Shannon (Mike) Kelley of Redding, CA., Tracy (Richard) Bennett of St. John, WA., Charles (Andrea)Bacchi of Sacramento, CA., Shannon Bacchi of El Dorado, CA, great grandchildren, Bryce Bennett, Katrina Kelley, Livia, Julia, Taylor and Bayden Bacchi. In addition, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Eastlick and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert and her husband Carl, grandson Marcus Bacchi and her brother Ronald Eastlick. A shining light has gone out of our lives. Our beautiful loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother has passed away. We are so blessed to have had her with us this long. We loved her dearly and will miss her so very much. The rosary will be recited on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Jones. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Fort Jones on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Fort Jones Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Parish, 314 Fourth St, Yreka, Ca 96097, or Whitman Community Hospital Foundation, 1200 W. Fairview Dr. Colfax, WA 99111.
