George Paul Ebejer

George Ebejer, Jr. aka "Backhoe George" went home to be with Jesus on September 16th, 2021 after a 15 month battle with kidney cancer. George was born in San Francisco on July 13th, 1962. At age 15 he moved to Siskiyou County and at age 16 he, his dad George Sr., and his brother John started Backhoe George & Sons. He met the love of his life and best friend, Markay in 1984 and they were married August 16, 1986. Together they had 3 children and built a beautiful life and close knit family. He devoted himself to his wife, children and grandchildren. George loved them and led them well. He was the Spiritual leader of the family that led us all to knowing and loving Jesus. It is because of that we will be together with him again, in Heaven. George was an avid outdoorsman. He loved trapping and hunting and provided for his family meat in the freezer and many, many memories hunting together. He also enjoyed playing softball, watching baseball and football and playing cribbage. He succeeded in every way as a husband, Dad, Papa, father-in-law, son, brother, uncle, friend and servant of Christ. George was kind, generous, funny, honest, humble and sincere. All of this was shared not just with his family, but with our community through his business "Backhoe George". Physically he worked the dirt and rock, preparing the ground for homes to be built upon; while spiritually he prepared the ground of peoples' hearts, by sharing the Gospel of Jesus, laying rock, for God, the ultimate Rock, to build upon. George's Faith in Jesus was something to learn from. He trusted God with every aspect of his life, even through the ugly, difficult battle with cancer. He knew his life was in God's hands and trusted Him completely. He knew God could heal him. And that He did....just not this side of Heaven. George has eternal life in Heaven, with a perfected body and complete joy and peace because of the faith he placed in Jesus Christ. George's Faith was the foundation of his life. Everything he did and everything he was, was because of Jesus. He wanted nothing more than for others to know Jesus, too. George loved sharing the Lord with others and planted many seeds of truth throughout His life. Even though he is not here among us anymore, George will continue to impact this world for the better through his wife, kids, grandkids, sons-and- daughter-in-law because of how he poured himself into us all. The love for Jesus and love for others to know Jesus will be extended through them. George was preceded in death by his father, George Ebejer, Sr. and his mother Carmen Ebejer. George is missed beyond words by his wife Markay, his children Ashley (Jake), Whitney (Anthony) and Jordan (Dennell), his 6 grandkids, Wyatt, Weston, Kendyl, Dean, Tycen and Hailey, his brother John (Dori), his nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. What a blessing it is to have something that is so hard to say goodbye to. "Someday you will hear that I have died, don't you believe a word of it.
