Isabel Venetta Pack

Isabel Pack passed from this world on Aug. 24, 2016. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and those she influenced throughout her life. She will be buried alongside her late husband, Richard, at the Henley-Hornbook Cemetery. At her request, a service will be held at the gravesite. Family members and friends from the community and her life are invited to attend at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept 2, 2016. Isabel Venetta Pack was born on Aug. 25, 1925, to Wesley and Hester Ritter. She grew up on a prairie wheat farm near Osnabruck, North Dakota. She left the North Dakota farm in 1943 to work in the Boeing Plant in Seattle, Washington. She met her husband, Dick, in Seattle in 1947. They were married in March of 1948 and moved to Kodiak, Alaska. She first came to Klamath River in 1954 with her husband and four young children. The ranch at Doggett Creek became their lifelong home. They became part of Horse Creek Community Church and supported the work of the church in many ways through the years. Her life has been devoted to her children and grandchildren. She and Dick spent many of their retirement years traveling throughout the United States and Canada with their RV. They are also both remembered well for their service to Madrone Hospice in Yreka, where many of the trees and flowers they helped to plant and tend make the Hospice House grounds a place of peace and beauty. She was preceded in 2014 by her husband of 66 years Richard Lee “Dick” Pack; her parents; and her brothers, Lawrence and Charles; and sister in law, Margaret. She is survived by her sister, Donna Brown and husband Dana of Snohomish, Washington. During the last days of her life she has been surrounded by her seven children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She is remembered by her children: Rick and Odette Pack with daughters, Nicole Munn, Christine and Mike Plate, Melodie and Shawn Allen, and Cindy and James Dearmore; Beverley Thoin (preceded by her husband Chuck) with son, Douglas and daughter, Crystal; Brenda and Michael Nowdesha with daughter, Rebekah Jaggars, and sons, Charlie and Abbi Nowdesha and Brian Nowdesha; Randy Pack and Colleen Daugherty with sons, James and Leia Criste and Steven and Cecelia Criste; David Pack and Carol Hale with sons, Johnathon and Anthony; and Dale and Merry Pack with sons, Daniel, Derrick and Leah, and Weston and Gabriella, Juliane Starks and Dustin Pace; and her daughter in law, Becky Pack. She is also survived by 34 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. In remembrance of her life, the family would appreciate any donations be made to Madrone Hospice in the names of Richard and Isabel.
