Jason Wayne Frost

Jason Wayne Frost, 58, passed away on July 19, 2019 surrounded by those who loved him after a long battle with cancer. Jason was born on July 11, 1961 in Yreka to Floyd “Gene” Eugene Frost and Shirley Faye Frost. He was the youngest of 3 siblings. Jason spent his youth running around Montague and could often be found on the baseball field and was in the Yreka High School graduating class of 1979. Jason discovered a love of cooking early on and spent his adulthood as a line cook in many different establishments throughout Siskiyou County, his final one being at The Madrone Hospice House where he was known and loved by the patients and staff. Jason loved cooking, but his true loves were fishing, racing, softball and above all: music. Jason spent many years as the lead singer in various bands playing gigs at many venues throughout Siskiyou County. Chances are you listened to him belt out a much loved AC/DC tune or some good southern rock. You also could often find him on the river bank with a fishing pole in his hand and showing all the little ones how to put a worm on their own hook and how to clean their catch. Saturdays were spent at the race track and he loved working on his race car with his sons and grandchildren. He passed on his love for softball to all of his children. Some of their favorite memories are of playing on their family’s slow pitch softball team together. Jason is preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Frost, who also passed this year, and his sister Dena Jorgenson. He is survived by his parents, Floyd “Gene” Frost and Shirley Frost, his brother Darrell Frost, his children, Kenda Leitner, Heather Frost, Heidi (Frost) Nettles, Michael Frost, Tyler Frost; 15 grandchildren, and his longtime friend and 1st wife, Alma “Louise” Westbrook, who helped care for him in his final days. A celebration of life will be held at Lower Greenhorn Park on August 18th 2019 at 3pm with a potluck to follow and is open to all who would like to come and remember him. Jason will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and friends that were like family who all wish they had one more cast, one more race, one more game or one more song - just one more.
