Jess Allen Gonsalves

Jess Allen Gonsalves passed away at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Sacramento, CA. on December 15, 2015 after a long, hard battle with cancer. He was 44 years old. Jess was born in Sacramento, CA to Judith Ann Denney on November 17, 1971. He attended schools in Sacramento and following High School he enlisted in the United States Navy. Jess discharged from active duty after four years but remained on Reserve duty and took a job at Pep boys where he met his wife of 18 years Kelly Ann Jole. They were married January 03, 1998. Jess returned to active duty in the Navy shortly after they were married until after his second son was born. Jess again discharged from the Navy, still maintaining his reserve status, in order to be at home with his growing family and he began his career in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, working at California State Prison, Sacramento in 2006. Jess enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and rock crawling as well as Charlie Brown and the Muppets. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife, Kelly and his two boys, Kyle and Jonathan as well as the rest of Kelly’s family. Anyone who knew Jess would tell you he was so full of life and had so many plans for the future. Even during all of his treatments he still managed to keep a positive attitude. He was taken from us way to young. Jess is preceded in death by his mother, Judith Ann Denney, January 4, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Kelly Ann Gonsalves; sons, Kyle Allen-David and Jonathan Michael-Forrest Gonsalves; daughters, Berlyn Jessica Thompson, Amber DeShelle Rodriguez; granddaughter, Delilah Rose-Anne Thompson; father-in-law, Ronald David Jole; mother-in-law, Claire Margaret Jole; brother-in-law, Shawn Michael Jole; sister-in-law, Shauna Michelle Jole; numerous nieces and nephews including, Justin Michael Arno-Jole; three brothers and three sisters. In our hearts forever A memorial service will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery located at 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA. A Celebration of Life will follow this memorial at 7pm at the Pavilion in Elk Grove Park, 9550 Elk Grove Florin Road in Elk Grove.
