Justin Bennich

32 year old Justin Bennich passed away suddenly on July 4, 2015 in Eureka, California. He was born in Yreka, California on August 25, 1982 to Jean and Larrie Bennich. He attended school at Gold Street Elementary, Live Oak Elementary, and was a 2001 graduate of Yreka High School. Justin was a self-employed entrepreneur working for Global Health & Safety as a Fire Safety Advisor. He loved his work because he had the ability to change people’s lives. He received a “LifeSaver Award” for helping to save a family of four, in which the fire alarms he installed were instrumental in saving their lives. There were many other customers who let him know that he had helped save their family’s lives. Justin loved art, music, guitars, tattoos, reading books, and Oregon Ducks football. He had an adventurous spirit, traveling to South America to hike for a month in Peru, visiting Machu Picchu, and hiking through Colombia and Ecuador. He took cruises to the Dominican Republic, Cancun, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands, with side trips to the Florida Everglades, New York City, Dallas, and recently to Disney World. He lived every day to its fullest, wanting to make sure he didn’t miss any of life’s opportunities. On his short path through this life, Justin made many friends, and no matter where he was in the world, he always tried to stay in touch with everyone and thought of Yreka as home. He had an infectious light within him that seemed to touch everyone he encountered. He always had words of encouragement and advice for friends, especially when they were going through difficult times. Justin is survived by his parents, Jean and Larrie Bennich of Yreka; grandmother, Blanche Van Buskirk of Yreka; grandfather, Dale Turner of Decatur, AL; sister, Sheila Bennich Cropley of Bath, PA; brother, Sean Bennich of Seattle, WA; fiance, Angelica Randall, of Missouria; great great Aunt, Lilo Lange; great uncle, Harvey Russell; aunt and uncle Debby and Jon Van Buskirk, aunt and uncle Susan and Walter Styres, all of Yreka; aunt and uncle Arleen and Mike Early; uncle Gary Van Buskirk, all of Ashland, Oregon; aunt and uncle Paula and Howard Bennich of AL, aunt and uncle Lola and Gary Bennich of Trussville, AL; great aunt and great uncle Lynne and Bill Lawrence of Decatur, AL; niece, Brenna Cropley; cousins: Julie Peterson, Amanda Beardsley, Kurtis Styres, Willie, and Jon Early; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins that loved him very much. Justin is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harlan Van Buskirk of Yreka, and his grandmother, Eleanor Turner of Decatur, Alabama. Memorial Services for Justin will be held at a later date. Justin’s family and friends would like to extend their appreciation to Global Health & Safety for all of their support during this trying time.
