Kelly Lee Meiners

On July 22, 2026, Kelly Lee Meiners, 69, peacefully entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family. Those fortunate enough to know Kelly knew her greatest gift was making every person feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Raised on her family's ranch in Yreka, California, Kelly became a gifted storyteller whose remarkable memory preserved generations of family history. She cherished her heritage and devoted countless hours to genealogy so future generations would know where they came from. Kelly's life was centered on her faith, her family, and her friendships. Though she spent much of her later years at home, she was rarely far from the people she loved, always available via phone with a listening ear, heartfelt encouragement, and genuine gratitude for every conversation. She was a devoted sister, beloved aunt, proud great-aunt, and loyal friend whose generosity was expressed through thoughtful gifts, handwritten birthday cards, and an extraordinary ability to make others feel remembered. She had a lifelong love of fashion, Paris, classic westerns, Hallmark movies, and a quick (and often dirty) wit that kept those around her laughing. After graduating from Willamette University, Kelly built a rewarding career in government relations, earning the respect of colleagues across the political spectrum for her professionalism, warmth, and integrity. Kelly's deepest joy in recent years was her Catholic faith. For more than five and a half years, she faithfully attended online Mass every day without missing one, finding lasting peace, purpose, and strength in her relationship with God. Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy Newton Meiners and Henry (Bud) Louis Meiners. She is survived by her brothers, Michael David Meiners (Robin) and Jon Henry Meiners (Susan); her father’s loving wife, Valarie Meiners; nieces Anna Meiners Hansen (Luke), Maria Lynn Meiners, Christine Meiners Boileau (Michael), and Claire Babbitt Meiners; great-nieces Holly & Heather Jane Hansen; many dear extended family members; and a wide circle of precious friends she embraced as family. A graveside memorial service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, August 15, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Rain Rock Casino. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Madrone Hospice: 255 Collier Circle, Yreka. Kelly's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with kindness, generosity, unwavering friendship, and unconditional love.
