Robin Louise Bailey

Robin Louise Bailey, long time Yreka resident, passed away in Yreka on February 5, 2025 following an illness. Robin was born on June 13, 1946 in Santa Rosa, California. Robin grew up in a close and caring family, the oldest of seven children of John "Jack" Bailey and Eual Wilen Bailey. She is survived by her loving husband of more than 25 years, Robert "Robbie" Mossgraber, sisters Eloyse Bailey Held (Jeff), Dorothy Bailey Loschiavo (Frank-deceased), Christine Bailey Cole (Cal), Paula Bailey Brent (Roibert), brothers Dave Bailey (Callee), Paul Bailey (Liz), and her very close sister-cousin Kathryn Wilen Hobart. Robin adored children, and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was certainly "Honorary Auntie" to several generations of friend's children. She knew birthdays, their friends, their grade in school, hobbies and interests, ups and downs, quirks and talents. She followed their life's journeys and she certainly had their pictures and antics on her phone to prove it. Robin moved to Yreka in 1973, where she promptly went to work at Siskiyou General Hospital as a trained X-ray technician. Her education and passion for this area of medicine, "Diagnostic Imaging" was progressing, and moving forward, she spent many years studying and learning and certifying in the ever-expanding fields of imaging, which included X-ray, ultrasound, CT and her beloved Nuclear Medicine. She served as Department Manager for many years, and moved on into Fairchild Medical Center when it was completed in 1997. She was a strong supporter of the "new hospital" and was very active in the fund-raising and efforts to help FMC become a reality. She was a charter member of the Fairchild Medical Center Foundation Board, and served years in various positions on the Executive Board. Robin was very social and enjoyed broad friendships. It would be remiss not to note she was a beautiful, elegant woman, and was very TALL. She took all matters of such with wit, enthusiasm and grace. She made the most of life, naturally optimistic, upbeat and very generous. She loved a party, went sky-diving on her 40th birthday and traveled often with her husband Robbie. Patients loved her, she made friends wherever she went, out-going and genuinely interested in others. In her work as well as her personal life, she was kind, bright and engaged. She was always eager to learn, an avid reader, and in addition to her professional interest, a supporter of many local activities such as YMCA, Hospice, musical and cultural events, and the like. She was active in Siskiyou Performing Arts (SPAC) for many years, often appearing in the popular "Wild" shows. She has been an active member and given many hours volunteering in Yreka's very cool downtown fine arts gallery, 'Liberty Arts". She had been serving on that board for some years, and at the time of her passing she was President of Liberty Arts Board. Robin faced her last days with determination and courage, beloved by so many for her grace and spirit. She will be greatly missed and well-remembered. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a future date.
