Donna Alice Williams

Donna Williams (Stewart) was born on May 19, 1947, in Long Beach, CA. Donna went to be with her Lord and Savior suddenly and quickly on June 17, 2024, in Medford, Oregon, surrounded by her family. Donna, a long time resident of Scott Valley, was known for her vibrant, joyful and caring spirit. She was deeply committed to her faith and family, cherishing her role as a mother and grandmother, and her dedication to her community, often seen supporting and helping those in need. Donna leaves behind her loving husband, Robert Williams, and daughters, Anne Carter (husband Chris) and Megan Smith (husband Jacob) and her five grandchildren; Mackenzie Carter, Robert Carter, Mathew Carter, Adelaide Smith and Cooper Smith. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Phil Stewart, sister-in-law Claudia Stewart, and her parents Donald and Mildred Stewart. Donna led an adventurous life! After marrying her husband Robert Williams in 1970 and graduating from Humboldt State University, they spent several years living in Quincy, CA where she began teaching and also served as a dental hygienist. Then they moved to Santa Cruz, CA where she served as Vice President of a bank. In 1981, Donna and Robert moved to Etna where they started their family. Donna spent more than 15 years as a teachers aide at Etna Elementary School. After she retired from teaching, she traveled with her daughters and friends to many places including Hawaii and Panama. In the most recent years she spent most of her time loving and spoiling her 5 grandchildren! A devoted member of the Callahan Community Church, Donna's faith was a central part of her life. She served as her church's secretary, and took many friends and community members to church when they were unable to attend on their own. Her hobbies included card making, crafting, gardening, volunteering at the Yreka Museum with the Candlelight events, spending time with her friends at the Ashland Cabaret and loving on and spending time with her grandchildren. A service to celebrate Donna's life will be held on August 3, 2024, at the Scott Valley Berean Church at 10 AM. She leaves a legacy of a deep love for her Savior Jesus, a selfless and generous heart to serve others and her joyful spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. The family is asking to keep her gracious and giving spirit in mind and in lieu of flowers to give a donation in her memory to some of the charities she helped and held dear.
