Sharon Linn Moehring

After a long battle with cancer, longtime Happy Camp resident, Sharon Linn Moehring, passed away at Rogue Valley Medical Center on Nov. 5, 2015. Sharon was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on March 19, 1938, to Arthur Beck and Lucile Walden. Her stepfather, Frank Walden, who she considered her father, raised her with Lucile. Sharon was raised in Oregon City, Oregon, and Happy Camp. On Dec 22, 1954, Sharon married Larry Moehring; they had three daughters together, Thresa Linn Moehring on June 29, 1955, Virginia Mae Moehring on June 30, 1957 and Christine Marie Moehring on May 6, 1963. Larry Moehring was tragically killed in an accident on Oct 8, 1975. Sharon then married Joe Selby and had her fourth daughter, Michelle Lee Cortes, on July 19, 1978. Sharon loved working in the yard planting flowers and most of all quilting and sewing. She made many blankets for the family. Sharon also loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. Sharon also worked at the local grocery store in Happy Camp for many years. Sharon is survived by her mother Lucile Walden; her daughters, Thresa Moehring, Virginia Moehring and Michelle Cortes; son in law, Brandon Cortes; one sister, Kathy Hagelberg, and husband, Tom; and her brothers: Cliff Beck and Mary, Jim Walden and wife K.C., Danny Walden and wife Mary, and Frankie Walden. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sherri Moehring, Amanda Burdett, Daniel, Corey and Thomas Titus, Tamara and husband John Barnett, Jimmy Moehring, Crystal Minium, John Lee, and Taylor, Aiden, Junior, Caleb, Lily and Willow Cortes; her great grandchildren: Ashley Spence and fiancé Michael Cook, Sabrina and Jack Spence, Larry, Cody, Sharon and Megan Minium, Alyssa Titus, and Corey, Brittany, and Olivia Barnett; her great great grandchildren: Gene and Heather Cook, Brayden Rhodes and Nancy, Karter; and many other family members: Frank Moehring of Lodi, California, and Jake and Wilma Moehring of Happy Camp, just to mention a few. Sharon will be reuniting with the love of her life, Larry Moehring; her daughter, Christine Marie Moehring; her father, Frank Walden; her brother, Brucie Walden; and her great granddaughter, Cassie Linn Spence. Services for Sharon will be at 11 a.m. on Dec 5, 2015, at the Karuk Tribe gym in Happy Camp. After services, Sharon will then be buried at the Happy Camp Cemetery, next to her husband Larry Moehring.
