Chris Girdner Funeral Director, Embalmer & General Manager

Chris is a native of Yreka. He attended Yreka Elementary School and graduated from Yreka High School. He attended college at Shasta College in Redding and Butte Jr. College and Chico State University, both in Chico. He is a 1990 graduate from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in San Francisco.

Chris is owner and president of Girdner Funeral Chapel, Girdner's North Country Memorials and Purrfect Paws Pet Crematory. He is a licensed embalmer (EMB 7934) and a licensed funeral director (FDR512). He is a member of the California Funeral Directors Association, the Cremation Association of North America and the National Funeral Directors Association.

Chris and his wife, Jackie, are proud parents and have grandchildren that are very important to them. They live in Big Springs and love spending time together in the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and camping. Chris is a former board member for Madrone Hospice and spent much of his younger years volunteering in youth programs and coaching sports teams.

Jackie was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon and raised in Mt. Hebron. She attended schools in Macdoel and Dorris and then went on to attend college in Redding and Chico, CA.

She met Chris at college and they were married in 1989. After living in San Francisco for a year, she and Chris moved back to Yreka to work in the family business. For much of the first years, Jackie raised their children and stayed at home. Later, when the children were older, she went to work with Chris at the funeral chapel and has been there ever since. Jackie started and currently runs the day-to-day operations for PurrFect Paws Pet Crematory, which opened in March of 2016.

In her personal time, Jackie can be found gardening and spending time outdoors with her animals. Her favorite things in life are taking trips with Chris, family and being a grandmother. She enjoys serving in different organizations that benefit others in the community.

Gregg Girdner Funeral Counselor

Gregg was born and raised in Yreka. He attended Yreka Elementary School and graduated from Yreka High School. He is a 1983 graduate from Santa Clara University. Gregg worked for 20 years in retail with Payless Drug Stores and Office Depot before returning to Yreka and joining the staff at Girdner Funeral Chapel.

Gregg and his wife, Jeanne have two children, William and Robert. They live in Yreka. In his spare time, Gregg can often be found in his garage where he makes wooden toys and other wood projects.

Robert Girdner Funeral Director & Licensed Embalmer

Robert is the 4th Generation of the Girdner Family in the funeral business. Rob is the son of Gregg, the nephew of Chris, and Dan Jr.’s grandson.

Rob graduated from Yreka High School in 2007 and achieved his Bachelors of Science in Biology and Environmental Sciences from Santa Clara University in 2011. He then decided to pursue the family business, and he graduated from American River College of Mortuary Science in 2013. Rob is a licensed Funeral Director (FDR 3631) and a Licensed Embalmer (EMB 9454).

Rob and his wife, Cicily, married in July of 2013. They have two daughters, Abigail and Emersyn. They make their home in Grenada, along with their dog, a blue heeler named Maycee May. Rob and his family enjoy hunting, backpacking, and spending time with their friends and family. Rob also serves on the board of United Scholarships, Inc. (a position his grandfather held for 51 years), and the Grenada Elementary School Board. Rob is a sports enthusiast, following very closely his beloved San Francisco Giants, Denver Broncos, and Colorado Avalanche.

Terah Girdner

Being the daughter of Chris and Jackie Girdner, Terah was raised in the funeral business. She attended local schools, graduated, and went off to college. She returned home and worked in several industries before deciding to come to work for her parents at both the pet crematory and currently as the main Sandblasting Technician for the headstone company. Being creative… she enjoys the artistic and hands on aspect of creating the stones for the company. In her off hours she loves the outdoors, reading and movies. The things that are important to Terah are her pets and spending time with friends and family.

Annie Davies

Annie is the daughter of Chris and Jackie Girdner. She grew up here and after going off to pursue life in college and working in the banking industry and for a major seed company, she married. As a couple they decided to move back to Siskiyou County. Annie is a Final Care Provider for the PurrFect Paws Pet Crematory. She likes being able to help pet families through difficult times. She also manages the social media and website accounts for the businesses. Annie is a mom of a one year old, helps her husband Blaine with their horse training business and enjoys spending time with friends, her family, her five dogs and two cats.

Travis Robison

Travis is the nephew of Chris and Jackie Girdner. He was raised mainly down in Paso Robles but spent his Senior year of high school in Yreka. After Simpson University he returned to Siskiyou County where he worked in several industries before choosing to come to work at Girdner Funeral Chapel. He is our main Crematory Specialist and works in other capacities within Girdner Funeral Chapel. Travis is an avid basketball player, trains and coaches young athletes and created MTXE which is an AAU basketball program for youth. Travis is married to Celena and they currently have one little girl. Travis loves to cook, spend time with his family including Drogo, his dog, and is an avid sports enthusiast.
